The Story of AC/DC

The ACDC were formed in 1973 by guitarist Malcolm Young after his previous band, the Velvet Underground, collapsed. With his younger brother Angus serving as the lead guitarist, the band played some gigs around Sydney. Angus was only 15 years old at the time and his sister suggested that he should wear his school uniform on-stage then by time the look became the visual trademark of the band. While still in Sydney , the original lineup featuring singer Dave Evans cut a single called
"Can I Sit Next To You," with ex-Easybeats Harry Vanda and George Young producing.
In February 19th 1980 ACDCs official coroner stated that Bon Scott had "drunk himself to death". Next march ACDC replaced Bon with Brian Johnson. The following month, the band recorded Back in Black, which would prove to be their biggest album, which sold over ten million copies in the U.S. alone. For the next few years, the band was one of the biggest rock bands in the world, with For Those About to Rock We Salute You topping the charts in the U.S. From 1983 to 2015 this is stuff that happened in a few sentences: 1983 Rudd left the band after the recording of Flick of the Switch and was replaced by Simon Wright, 1980 they made the legendary song Thunderstruck, 2014 they announced that Malcolm Young was suffering from dementia and had left the band, his nephew Stevie Young took his place for the 40th anniversary tour.

In 2009 ACDC got an award for "Best Hard Rock Performance"
